Cybersecurity Engineer
Cimarron is seeking a senior-level cybersecurity engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions contract at either Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area or at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Key duties include developing and maintaining the organization's cybersecurity architecture, standards, and frameworks across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Design and implement secure solutions for data protection, network security, IAM, and application security. Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments; develop mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities. Evaluate, recommend, and integrate emerging security technologies and tools to enhance the organization's cyber posture. Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, STIGs, and other regulatory frameworks through audits and assessments. Collaborate with IT, development, and business teams to embed security throughout the SDLC. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on cybersecurity best practices and incident response. Communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders while driving continuous improvement in cybersecurity architecture. Travel up to 10%. Required skills, experience, and education include: Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Active Secret Clearance. 8 or more years of general, full-time work experience. 6 or more years of directly related experience. 2 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership role. Proven experience designing and implementing complex cybersecurity architectures. Deep understanding of security principles, technologies, and industry best practices. Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, Elastic Security SIEM, ACAS vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection tools. Strong background in cloud security architecture and deployment models, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Experience applying Zero Trust architecture principles within enterprise IT environments. Thorough understanding of cybersecurity architecture methodologies and design frameworks. Working knowledge of regulatory compliance standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO 27001. Desired skills, experience, or education include: 1 or more industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security -- Specialty. Experience with threat modeling methodologies (e.g., STRIDE, DREAD). Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment. Experience with DevSecOps principles and practices.
