This position supports the development of autonomous systems and related capabilities with potential impact on national security. Job Summary

Join our team as a Software Engineer and collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to develop and demonstrate autonomy behaviors and flight control algorithms for autonomous and crewed operations. You will support development and integration efforts for simulation and flight tests, assist in understanding requirement fulfillment and system maturity to support deployment, and work with Government colleagues to manage the on-site System Integration Lab (SIL). Key Responsibilities

Develop and demonstrate Autonomy Behaviors and Flight Control algorithms for autonomous control of various vehicles alongside crewed operations. Develop flight control algorithms to support program objectives, including maneuvering and station keeping of platforms. Support the development of basic contingency management. Support creating Open Mission Systems (OMS) services to transfer information across autonomy components. Participate in flight tests to develop and refine autonomy behaviors and flight control algorithms. Demonstrate autonomy and flight control algorithms in high-fidelity simulated environments. Collaborate with Government leads to manage the on-site System Integration Lab (SIL). Deliver documentation related to software design and usage, and deliver source code for government compilation and local execution. Assist in understanding requirement fulfillment and system maturity for deployment. Support AFRL in R&D to prototype and transition autonomous ISR capabilities. Integrate applications with existing systems and provide ongoing support and maintenance. Work Environment

Location: On-Site Travel: Minimal 0-10% Working Hours: Standard Required Qualifications

Experience developing software and algorithms in teams. Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or Master's with 2+ years of experience. Experience authoring, reviewing, or testing C/C++ software. Experience with modern IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Jupyter Notebook). Experience with version control and CI/CD systems (e.g., Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps). Ability to work on-site at Wright Patterson AFB, OH 3 days per week. Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. Desired Qualifications

Understanding of software development practices and continuous delivery. Experience with Agile development and collaborative feedback. Knowledge of software test systems and requirement verification. Additional programming languages beyond C/C++. Experience with UAVs/UASs and autonomous systems. USAF and/or AFRL experience. Benefits & Equal Opportunity
