Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and continuous hardening of cybersecurity architectures for AI/ML systems deployed across classified networks, including JWICS. This role requires balancing robust security protections with mission effectivenessensuring AI-enabled solutions remain resilient, compliant, and trusted in operational environments. Senior engineers are expected to operate hands-on while also mentoring junior teammates, driving security frameworks, and advising stakeholders across the client's program. The position requires initiative, adaptability, and the ability to anticipate threats in a dynamic national security context. Primary Responsibilities: Design and implement security architectures for AI/ML systems in classified environments Conduct security assessments and penetration testing of AI applications Develop security policies and procedures specific to AI/ML workloads Lead incident response activities and forensic analysis for AI system compromises Implement advanced threat detection and monitoring solutions Ensure compliance with federal security standards (NIST, DoD, IC directives) Mentor junior cybersecurity personnel and provide technical guidance Coordinate with stakeholders on security requirements and risk assessments Required Experience: Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph Typically 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, preferably within DoD/IC environments Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent Deep knowledge of network security, cryptography, and secure coding practices Experience with SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing toolsets Understanding of AI/ML security considerations, including adversarial threats Hands-on experience securing cloud environments (AWS preferred) Ability to thrive in high-tempo, ambiguous environments while maintaining mission focus Preferred Experience: Prior military service or direct support to DoD/IC programs Background in securing distributed systems, containerized workloads, and real-time data platforms Familiarity with Responsible AI frameworks and model security practices Strong communication skills and ability to operate as a "Swiss-army knife" in small, fast-moving teams Benefits: Equity participation 401(k) retirement plan Unlimited paid time off (PTO) Paid parental leave Paid holidays Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage
