THE ROLE

To ensure accurate accounting of global fixed assets, internal use software and leases

To prepare relevant, timely and reliable reporting of actuals to support decision making and forecasting

To act as a key contact for audits

RESPONSIBILITIES Monthly Accounting

Responsible for the preparation of monthly results, variance analysis and commentary in accordance with the agreed corporate timetable for senior management review

Ensure clear process in place for creation of new fixed assets, disposals and useful life reviews

Maintain Lease Query with latest global lease information, complying with IFRS 16

Controllership

Responsible for maintaining and preparing accurate balance sheet reconciliations

Adhere to company policies and internal controls

Support all audit requests pertaining to fixed assets or leases

Additional Projects & Analysis

Provide ad-hoc analysis as required to support business and finance initiatives

Develop relevant dashboards to improve reporting

Support implementation of ad hoc projects and processes, for example setting up new entities

IDEAL EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

Fully Qualified Accountant with CPA / ACCA / CIMA

Experience of Lease Query and SAP beneficial

Educated to degree level

Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships both within finance and with stakeholders at all levels

Creative problem-solving ability

Some knowledge of Sotheby’s or the art industry, its culture, and services beneficial

The proposed base salary for this position ranges from $80,000-$100,000. In addition to base salary successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, as well as a competitive benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
