Senior

Paralegal – Contracts & Legal Operations

to support contract review, legal workflows, and systems development across Discovery Education’s U.S. Legal team. This role provides critical support to our U.S. commercial contract function and legal department operations, with a unique blend of contract execution, legal process management, and cross‑functional legal support. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role will work closely with the U.S. Commercial Contracting team as well as partnering across the Legal Team and business to improve how we deliver legal services.

This is a high‑visibility, hands‑on role where you’ll collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Product, Operations, Information Technology, and Privacy. You will be responsible for reviewing a wide range of contracts; developing legal systems and documentation; and helping implement tools and processes that enable the Legal team to work more effectively and efficiently.

In This Role You Will

Contract Review & Execution

Review and support negotiation of U.S. commercial contracts including RFP responses, data privacy agreements (DPAs), corporate partnership agreements, NDAs, and vendor contracts

Work from legal templates and playbooks to ensure contracts align with risk standards and business goals

Manage the contract finalization and execution process, including DocuSign workflows and archiving

Legal Operations & Systems

Contribute to the design and maintenance of scalable intake and triage systems for legal and contract requests

Help develop and manage tools that support legal workflows, using platforms such as Asana, JIRA, Slack, and DocuSign

Support coordination with legal vendors and technology providers

Knowledge & Information Management

Organize and maintain legal templates, playbooks, and internal knowledge resources

Develop guidance and documentation for internal business users and cross‑functional teams

Champion best practices in legal document retention, version control, and access

Cross‑Functional Legal Support

Provide general support to the General Counsel, including on matters related to M&A diligence, litigation, and other corporate matters

Support review and maintenance of legislation

Collaborate on privacy program support for administration of our privacy program

Participate in Legal team initiatives focused on automation, self‑service, and AI‑driven efficiency

Credentials And Experience

5+ years of relevant legal experience in a corporate, law firm, government, or in‑house environment

BA or equivalent required

Paralegal certificate preferred

Demonstrated experience supporting high‑volume contract workflows

Familiarity with tools such as DocuSign, Slack, JIRA, Asana, or similar workflow platforms

Interest or experience with legal automation or AI tools is a plus

Legal right to work in the United States

This role is designed to be

hybrid . As a legal function‑facing role, this position requires reasonable proximity to

Charlotte, NC . Only candidates local to Charlotte will be reviewed for consideration. You can expect to work primarily in a typical office setting, with

in‑office presence expected on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
