Job Description Summary
The Asset Hardware Analyst is responsible for maintaining and supporting the end-to-end process of information technology (IT) asset management. The process includes acquisition, inventory, deployment, upgrade, maintenance, tracking, and resale / disposition of hardware within the organization. The Analyst supports the full IT product lifecycle processes to assist internal customers and vendors, including self-maintainer programs, and tracks organizational computing device movement. The role involves process refinement, budget performance and report generation for management. Responsibilities And Duties
Hardware Asset Management Lifecycle: remove data from computing devices as assigned, communicate concerns to team members, physically prepare equipment (cleaning, upgrading, downgrading) for process advancement, receive new, redeploy and dispose IT equipment from procurement vendors and other sources, categorize and document for asset tracking, and prepare transport and documentation for IT product delivery. Hardware Asset Management Process: support scheduled IT equipment inventory, ensure inventory accuracy for forecasting and budgeting, handle redeployment, resale and disposal in adherence to laws and policy, contribute to continual process improvement, provide quotes for procurement within standards, ensure timely customer service, organize building areas, monitor ServiceNow queue, allocate tickets, maintain accurate procurement and resale records, coordinate with Purchasing, Accounts Payable and Warehouse, and support IS staff in customer interactions. Review requisitions for accuracy and limit errors; document asset disposition and return material authorizations for supported devices; collaborate with IS Project Management to deliver equipment for deployments. Vendor support: contact procurement vendors for status and backorders, schedule resale / disposition shipments, provide routine reporting updates and annual reviews, coordinate returns with hardware vendors. Administrative support: attend Asset and Information Services meetings, facilitate Asset management meetings, participate in leadership briefings, complete required training, create knowledge base articles in ServiceNow CMDB, support maintenance of eSource Asset page, and perform other duties as assigned. Field of Study: computer science, business information systems, management information systems or the equivalent. IT Asset Management Certification preferred. Understanding of lifecycle management of computer hardware assets. Ability to provide asset reports for management and budgeting; develop and maintain online access and reports of computer assets; administer systems coordinating acquisition, deployment and resale / disposal of equipment. Knowledge of PCs, networks and host-based systems. Awareness of security group policies and base image integrity. ITIL familiarity with incident and problem management. Ability to work professionally with IT vendors to provide excellent customer service. Strong organizational, time management and communication skills. Experience with administration of PCs and mobile devices, Windows, MS Office, ServiceNow, and related tools. Familiarity with procurement and budgeting documentation. Work Shift
