We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Accountant to manage the core day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions of our company. This role is the central hub of our accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and seamless integration between our financial systems.
Position Overview and Responsibilities The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, proficient in QuickBooks, and comfortable in a tech-forward environment that utilizes tools like Salesforce and ClickUp. You will be instrumental in our transition from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop Diamond Level and will be the go-to person for all core accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end and year-end close processes, and journal entries.
Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring that opportunities and invoices created in Salesforce are accurately recorded in QuickBooks. Proactively manage statements and collections and maintain a healthy AR aging report.
Accounts Payable & Reconciliations: Supervise and support the part-time Accounting Specialist in AP & Reconciling; review their work, and handle more complex vendor issues. Manage and perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for review by the Finance Director.
Systems Integration & Transition: Lead role in the successful migration from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop Diamond Level. Ensure data integrity and help streamline processes in the new system.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows, leveraging tools like ClickUp to manage finance tasks and enhance collaboration with other departments.
Salesforce & Accounting Sync: Ensure a consistent and accurate flow of financial data from Salesforce to QuickBooks, troubleshooting any discrepancies.
Compliance & Audit Support: Assist the Finance Director with tax preparation, audits, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
8+ years of progressive accounting and bookkeeping experience.
Proficient with QuickBooks; experience with both Online and Desktop versions is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with Salesforce and its integration with accounting software is a significant plus.
Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new software quickly. Experience with project management tools like ClickUp is desirable as well as utilization of AI tools.
Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
