Overview The Retail Store Manager will lead daily operations, drive sales, ensure excellent customer service, and manage store staff to meet Company standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage store employees to provide excellent customer service and maintain the site image.
Recruit, hire, train and develop staff; assign tasks to ensure a clean, stocked, organized store that aligns with Company standards.
Schedule employees within Company guidelines to maximize customer service and site image.
Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisors.
Implement non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, counseling, motivating and separating employees.
Site Relationships
Develop positive and professional relationships with suppliers.
Promote excellent service and resolve customer complaints in a timely, professional manner.
Promote and ensure a safe, positive public image within the neighboring community.
Training and Development
Provide ongoing and timely performance appraisals in writing for all employees, with performance-based feedback.
Train all employees to meet customer service, site image and marketing standards.
Train all employees on safety procedures and promote safety awareness.
Communication
Establish timely communication with all employees and schedule regular meetings with the Market Manager.
Organizing and Planning
Evaluate and develop action plans to achieve site objectives.
Organize and maintain all site files and manuals.
Supervise store employees to ensure timely completion of reports, accurate merchandise stocking, display, and pricing.
Ensure employment posters and signs are readily accessible to all employees.
Financial
Analyze daily sales and expenses to maximize sales and net profits.
Budget and forecast P&L lines; understand and manage merchandise margins.
Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed.
Perform financial analyses to maximize sales and profits.
Working Conditions
Perform mostly indoor work with periodic outdoor tasks (e.g., cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, trash).
Occasional exposure to cold temperatures in walk-in cooler/freezer areas and to noise.
Work with minimal direction and supervision; lead as an effective manager, supervisor and leader.
