Overview
STORE/NIGHT LEAD CLERK role at Kroger (King Soopers).
Joining the team involves creating an outstanding customer experience, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supervising department functions to support grocery operations.
Responsibilities
Promote trust and respect among associates.
Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
Develop scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
Train and develop associates on performance and participate in the appraisal process.
Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
Gain knowledge of products sold and respond to questions, making suggestions.
Inform customers of grocery specials and develop department business plans.
Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
Prepare seasonal critiques and implement department promotional plans.
Stay current with ads and monitor/control department expenses.
Assist management with budgeting, P&L reviews, and financial reporting.
Maintain inventory awareness and manage stocking conditions; note discrepancies.
Plan, organize and supervise inventory processes; train on inventory/stocking and computer ordering.
Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperature logs.
Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions; notify management as needed.
Report safety risks or incidents, including robbery, theft or fraud.
Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications Minimum
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
Ability to handle stressful situations
Desired
High school education or equivalent preferred
Management experience preferred
