Hybrid## Job DescriptionThe Housing Support Officer will work with all households and those at risk of homelessness to provide the support that they need to maintain housing by using preventative measures. The job is focused on prevention of homelessness or further homelessness of service users on a needs led basis in collaboration with other housing support services. The post holder will also be expected to facilitate appropriate referrals to other support agencies where appropriate.The Housing Support Officer is responsible for the day to day management of a team of Housing Support staff dealing with housing support operational issues as they arise and to support, mentor and coach team members by validating their decisions, dealing with complex cases, ensuring performance targets are met and resolving front line complaints.The post holder will deputise for the Housing Needs Operations Manager (Contracts/Housing Support) in their absence.## RequirementsTo ensure that assessments of need and support plans for individuals referred to the Housing Support Team are carried out.To provide support and supervision to the Housing Support Team to ensure they achieve the required level of performance.To monitor case management and carry out case audits relating to housing support and maintain appropriate records for the purpose of internal and external audits.To manage the operational duty system and workloads within the Housing Support Team.To ensure that the performance management records of the Housing Support Team are well maintained and kept up to date.To represent the Housing Needs Service at multi-agency groups, meetings and forums and provide advice/solutions to address service user’s housing need.Promote the prevention agenda by assisting in the development of new initiatives and identifying and then embedding best practice into the team.To provide guidance to staff through monitoring and updating housing support procedures.## Responsibilitiesn/a## The IndividualExperience of staff support and supervision.Experience of multidisciplinary working.Experience of working with people with multiple needs.Experience of assessing people.Experience of multidisciplinary working.Experience of developing policies and procedures.SVQ 4 Leadership & Management award or willing to work towards SVQ 4.SSSC Registration or willingness to obtain this.Ability to organise, plan, and monitor workloads.Ability to work on own initiative.Ability to work as part of a team.Report Writing skills.Good communication skills.Assessment skills including risk assessment and the ability to work with clients to draw up, implement and monitor Individual Action Plan.The ability to gain the confidence of people vulnerable to homelessness and ability to build up good rapport with them.The ability to work in a multidisciplinary manner.Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.Ability to relate to people with multiple needs.Empathy.Ability to be non-judgemental.Mobile worker.Visits to other offices, supported accommodation, temporary accommodation and service users own home.The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland Level 1 check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.Closing Date: 07 November 2025Starting Salary: £38,699 per year£20.53 per hour36.25 hours per weekFor further information, please contact Karen Adams, Operations Manager Housing Support on 07976 194861.## Job Attachments* Share this job posting via Email### Advertisement #J-18808-Ljbffr
