Genesis Capital (the “Company”) is one of the largest business purpose lenders in the country, focused on providing commercial real estate financing solutions to real estate developers who buy, renovate, and sell single-family and/or multi-family residential real estate. The Company is a subsidiary of Rithm Capital (parent company), a publicly traded mortgage real estate investment trust. The Credit Analyst plays a critical role in evaluating and underwriting fix & flip, bridge, and construction loans in our correspondent lending program. They will help lead due diligence efforts and transaction management for whole loan trades. This role is best suited for a candidate who has familiarity with credit fundamentals and a strong attention to detail. A working knowledge of capital markets or loan trading is required, along with the ability to distill complex situations into a concise summary. The Credit Analyst is expected to manage transactions in a fast-paced environment with a focus on speed, accuracy, and risk mitigation. This role requires strong cross-functional communication with Finance, Servicing, Valuations, Construction, and Operations teams as well as with external vendors and counterparties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Review loan tapes to assess credit quality and adherence to Genesis guidelines. Provide analysis to management and decision makers on individual loans requiring escalation. Underwrite selected loans to ensure they meet Genesis standards for credit quality. Perform first-level analysis of high-risk loans and provide recommendations to management. Coordinate loan sale transactions with counterparties, from submission through final settlement. Perform quality control reviews of sampled loans and documents and highlight any variances for escalation to management. Confirm loan eligibility against Genesis credit policy, program guidelines and risk thresholds. Collaborate with Finance, Servicing, Valuations, Construction, and Operations to coordinate efforts around pre-close diligence, transaction settlement, and post-funding transition. Support relationship management efforts with counterparties. Provide timely and constructive feedback to counterparties on proposed transactions. Participate in portfolio review meetings and provide observations to management. Ensure all transaction documents are properly executed and distributed to relevant stakeholders. Understand the requirements for both Genesis and its counterparties, as governed by the MLPA. Education and Experience To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum 2+ years in Commercial Real Estate banking or private real estate lending, in the form of underwriting, credit analysis or related experience. Experience in whole loan trading or capital markets is highly recommended. Knowledge of real estate lending and loan structuring. Understanding of RTL underwriting processes. Familiarity with real estate markets, valuation methodologies, and investor exit strategies. Ability to read legal documents and gain a general understanding of the terms contained within. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong real estate underwriting judgment, with the ability to quickly assess project-level risks and opportunities. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to handle a high volume of transactions in a deadline-driven environment. Confident communicator able to present and defend decisions to counterparties. Adept at working across multiple teams and functions to ensure efficient trade execution. Ability to synthesize data from underwriting files, internal systems, and public records into actionable insights. Flexible and adaptable to process and program changes in a rapidly growing platform. Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and ownership over assigned transactions. Creative problem solver that can effectively summarize and communicate issues to team members and management. Analytical approach to identifying issues and proposing solutions.
