The person should be a self‑starter, adaptable, attentive to detail and able to work with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do
Installation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintainData Center cleanliness.
Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
Have a broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
What You'll Need
Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
Must be capable of leading a crew of 1-5 technicians.
Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer for job requirements.
Accept responsibility of outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employee that directly report to him/her.
Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
Be able to read and understand job floor plan.
Be familiar with wiring schemes and wiring testing.
Be able to pull all types of low voltage cables.
Be able to perform field terminations and labeling.
Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs.
Possess skill to layout MDF and IDF closets, be able to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations and should include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations.
Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
Capable of working in Data Centers.
Shall be able to work on analog, DSL, and be able to extend T1 lines.
Be able to patch network equipment.
Reports to Operations Manager and take daily directions from Technician, Technician II, Lead Technicians, Senior Technicians and Advance Senior Technicians.
Track and submit timesheets for crew reporting.
Perform job walks.
Maintain paperwork and run service jobs.
Copper/Fiber term, test, splice, troubleshoot.
Be responsible for outcome of work.
Track and submit timesheets for crew.
Communicate effectively with Foreman, Leads, Technician.
Understand metrics/SLA's and be able to track.
Understand network handover.
Track lessons learned as they occur.
Coordinate with QAQC on quality status walks.
Understands project close out.
Identify the tech's strengths and weaknesses.
