Position Title Project Architect/Manager

Job Summary NANDINEE PHOOKAN ARCHITECTS (NPA) is an architecture and design firm based in Dumbo, Brooklyn. The firm's projects include planning, architecture, and interior design across public and institutional sectors such as aviation, transportation, resiliency, healthcare, hospitality, and residential. NPA is seeking a motivated and organized Project Architect to grow with its team. The successful candidate will be a team player capable of managing small to mid‑size projects and directing intermediate and junior staff in the development of design and construction documents based on NPA’s standards.

Responsibilities

Project planning including developing schedules, assigning tasks/resources, and creating drawing lists and cartoon sets.

Design studies for presentation to principals and clients.

Guiding junior team members in design and production of architectural documents.

Setting up drawing sets and organizing construction drawings and specifications based on NPA standards.

Coordination with engineers and other consultants.

Addressing technical/design issues and developing details based on NPA standards.

Communicating effectively with clients and contractors, attending and conducting project meetings, documenting and circulating meeting minutes.

Assisting with bid and negotiation, and providing construction administration services: shop drawing review, RFIs, change orders, punchlist and project closeout documents.

Desired Skills

7–8 years of experience in all phases of architectural design and documents as well as construction administration.

Experience working on public and institutional projects.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a 5‑year accredited architectural program.

New York State architectural license required.

Knowledge of NYC zoning and building codes, energy codes, and accessibility requirements.

Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD, with experience in construction documents/detailed drafting.

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.

Knowledge of 3‑D modeling & rendering programs (Rhino/Enscape) desirable.

Excellent communication and management skills.

Team player with a good attitude and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Legally authorized to work in the US.
