Under the direction of the Manager Administration/Training, the Supervisor Training Cage Operations leads the development and execution of training programs for Cage Operations. This role ensures staff are well‑equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively, while maintaining compliance with all departmental policies and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Oversees all aspects of training, including facilitating new hire onboarding, delivering ongoing training for existing team members, managing classroom environments, and addressing initial concerns raised by team members to ensure a supportive and productive learning experience.

Manages new hire orientation and pre‑training sessions, develops and maintains training schedules, and tracks employee progress throughout the onboarding process. Provides consistent feedback to support new hire development and ensures a high‑quality training experience by creating and maintaining training materials and manuals. Collaborates with cross‑functional departments to coordinate onboarding efforts and facilitate the successful integration of new employees into the Cage Operations department.

Stays current with emerging training methodologies and technologies, continuously evaluating and updating the training curriculum and materials to reflect best practices and enhance learning effectiveness.

Implements and manages a structured tracking system to monitor training progress for all Cage Operations team members, ensuring timely completion of mandatory training modules and obtaining signed acknowledgements to maintain compliance with departmental policies and standards.

Supports the recruitment process by participating in hiring events and job fairs, reviewing applications, and coordinating interview schedules. Conduct interviews for various positions within the department, as assigned, to assist in the selection of qualified candidates.

Supports the development and implementation of new products, policies, and procedures, including updates and revisions as needed to align with operational goals and regulatory requirements.

Collaborates with Central Scheduling and Cage management to develop and coordinate training schedules for all Cage Operations team members, ensuring alignment with operational needs and availability.

Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum one (1) year of career experience in Cage Operations, Casino, Customer Service, or a related field which must include experience in a training‑related role such as facilitating, coordinating, or supporting employee training as part of regular job duties required.

Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience is preferred.

Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA)

Must possess intermediate computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suites (MS) - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Forms, OneNote, Lists, Outlook.

Required to possess comprehensive knowledge of all internal Controls, gaming Commission Regulations, and Bank Secrecy Act/Anti Money Laundering compliance.

Ability to clearly present training materials, facilitate group meetings, and provide constructive feedback to diverse audiences across all levels of the organization.

Ability to build, maintain, and strengthen professional relationships with internal and external team members.

Ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining department standards.

Licenses, Certifications and Registrations

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions – Environment

Primary work environment is in a climate‑controlled office setting.

Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment.

Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.

Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.

Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.

Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.

Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
