Laundry Supervisor – Housekeeping (Full Time)

Responsibilities
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
Anticipate guests’ needs.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, satisfaction and organization of assigned work areas.
Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
Adhere to all Health department, sanitation and safety regulations.
Set up and organize work station with designated supplies and equipment; replenish as needed throughout the shift.
Monitor usage of chemical and water to maximize consumption.
Remove all debris on floors after each sorting.
Issue clean table linens and service towels/rags to Food and Beverage personnel.
Document and process guests request for laundry, dry cleaning and pressing of garments, hotel uniforms and designated management garments.
Maintain accurate poundage records of dry cleaning and laundry.
Report faulty equipment, damaged garments/linen, shortages, maintenance needs, safety hazards and problems to supervisor.
Breakdown and clean work areas/equipment.
Restock chemicals for next shift as assigned.
Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving. Review status of assignments and any follow up action with manager and/or on‑coming supervisor.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Assists in other areas of Laundry assigned.
Attend designated meetings.
Stock Laundry supplies.
Work with chemical and machine repair personnel to repair machines, improve quality or standards and increase productivity or capacity of machines.
Qualifications
1 year experience in laundry/dry cleaning position.
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical handling, requirements and use of equipment.
High School graduate.
Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
Compute mathematical calculations.
Ability to:
Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
Prioritize and organize.
Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
Follow directions thoroughly.
Understand employee needs.
Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
Work with minimal supervision.
Maintain confidentially employee information and pertinent hotel data.
Ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training.
Direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections when needed.
Desirable:
Supervisory experience.
Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
Previous guest relations training.
Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers.
Compensation Base Pay Start Rate: $25.73/hr.
