Description Line cooks prepare food to be served in compliance with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, following established food production recipes and procedures. Line cooks are responsible for the appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, injury, and fraud.

Responsibilities

Work effectively as a team player in a collaborative environment.

Prepare all food items to order in accordance with standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits.

Pre‑prep assigned items ensuring freshness of ingredients; label prepped ingredients with name, date, time, and initials of preparer.

Grill, sauté, deep‑fry, bake, and broil raw and pre‑pped foods.

Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards; observe proper food preparation and handling techniques.

Measure and assemble ingredients and cooking items according to recipes and menu specifications.

Maintain clean, sanitary, and safe cooking line; return ingredients to storage after use.

Follow SDS book for proper guidelines on chemicals and sanitation products.

Restock items on the cooking line in accordance with specifications.

Wash and clean raw food products.

Peel, dice, shred, and slice food products using manual and automatic equipment.

Present a neat appearance; maintain well‑groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy.

Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment.

Perform any other duties as directed.

Qualifications

Moderate verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Professional and ethical conduct.

Proficient in oral and written English.

Ability to absorb and retain information quickly; able to pass menu‑related tests.

California food handler's card required.

Basic mathematical, reading, and writing skills.

Basic computer skills.

Multi‑task oriented.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.

At least one year of full‑service restaurant experience.

Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.

Knowledge of and ability to adhere to workplace safety procedures.

Ability to suggestively sell food and beverage items.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of full‑service restaurant experience.

The team member occasionally lifts and carries tubs and cases weighing up to 75 pounds. The team member is regularly exposed to kitchen equipment, such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chef's knives. The team member must frequently communicate with coworkers. The team member is occasionally exposed to hazards including cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls and burns; frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood and produce items and frequent washing of hands. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
