Phlebotomist needed for a contract job in Boston.
1. Kenmore sq. Boston- 7:45am to 4:15pm M-F
2. Copley sq and Post office sq. 2 week rotation. Boston . 9-5:30 M-F
Strongly prefer candidates with Pediatric experience
Position requires flexibility in scheduling and site assignment
Key Responsibilities
Perform venous access procedures on infants, pediatric, and adult patients using standard needle and syringe and multi-tube needle holders
Perform capillary access procedures on infants, pediatric, and adult patients, collecting samples for immediate testing or into collection tubes
Ensure proper identification and verification of patients before collecting samples
Assess and verify sample integrity, correct tube type, sufficient volume, and appropriate dilution for anticoagulated specimens
Handle specimens in accordance with established protocols and testing requirements
Maintain sufficient stock of all phlebotomy supplies and monitor inventory
Ensure samples meet all quality requirements before submission for testing
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in patient medical records
Understand laboratory requisition processes and ensure accurate billing documentation
Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a healthy work environment
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Phlebotomy training or certification
Ability to perform pediatric and adult blood draws
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Able to rotate between different work locations and adapt to schedule changes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory requisitioning
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in pediatric phlebotomy
Experience working in multiple clinical or outpatient settings
