Job Description

Position Title: QA Tester (Temp)

Studio/Department: Quality Assurance

Employee Type: Full Time, Temp

Location: Needham, MA / Remote (Daybreak Approved Remote Locations – CA, WA, TX, NY)

Salary Range:

Needham, MA: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour (based on experience)

Approved Remote Locations: $14.00 – $17.00 per hour (based on experience and location)

About Our Studio

Standing Stone Games is a gaming studio based in Needham, Massachusetts, staffed by people who have been passionately working on MMOs for decades. We develop and operate our two free‑to‑play MMOs: Dungeons & Dragons Online and Lord of the Rings Online.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑On reporting of bugs, balance issues, etc.
• Performing regression and functional testing
• Assisting in build approvals by completing smoke tests, test plans, and white glove testing
• Investigating bugs reported by players
• Work closely with developers and attend various meetings

What craft expertise you'll have

• Strong working knowledge of the MMO genre
• Highly motivated and self‑directed, with a drive to perform well and take initiative on tasks
• Teamwork oriented
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

Bonus craft expertise

• Prior experience playing Lord of the Rings Online
• Prior experience as a software Quality Assurance tester, preferably on an AAA title
• Experience with JIRA software
