Sports Performance, Strength & Conditioning Coach

As the Sports Performance, Strength & Conditioning Coach, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive programs that enhance the athletic performance and overall well‑being of our scholar‑athletes. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic educational environment committed to fostering excellence in academics and athletics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs tailored to meet the needs and goals of scholar‑athletes.
  • Conduct fitness assessments to evaluate scholar‑athletes’ strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Utilize evidence‑based practices to design progressive training protocols focusing on strength, speed, agility, flexibility, and injury prevention.
  • Lead group training sessions for sports teams and individual athletes.
  • Instruct proper techniques for weightlifting, cardiovascular exercises, and other fitness activities.
  • Provide guidance on nutrition and recovery strategies to optimize performance and promote overall health.
  • Track scholar‑athletes’ progress and performance improvements over time, adjusting training programs as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of workouts, attendance, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with sports coaches and athletic staff to support athletes’ development and performance goals.
  • Communicate regularly with coaches, parents, and school administrators regarding student‑athletes’ progress and program updates.
  • Promote a positive and motivating environment that fosters teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

  • Collaborate with coaches across the SA network to build a world‑class athletics program.
  • Inspire a love for sport and encourage critical thinking through rigorous instruction.
  • Coordinate and lead family meetings.
  • Receive routine, ongoing feedback and support from an outstanding leadership team and faculty.
  • Implement a comprehensive and inclusive sports program to compete in internal and external leagues.
  • Implement curriculum that contains goals and benchmarks for scholars to meet.
  • Implement lesson plans and activities that introduce scholars to the basics of physical movement through multiple sports.
  • Encourage scholars to engage in regular physical activity and develop a lifelong interest in sports and physical activity.
  • Be expected to work on weekends and travel between different training sites depending on the sport.
  • Be expected to lift heavy items and equipment.

We Invite You To Apply If You

  • Have 2‑3 years of experience working as a strength coach or personal trainer, preferably in a high school or collegiate setting.
  • Are able to manage both administrative and coaching aspects of the position in a timely and organized manner.
  • Have previous experience designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs, preferably with collegiate, high school, or youth athletes.
  • Show commitment to the growth and development of scholar‑athletes both on and off the field.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field.
  • Possess a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification (preferred).

Compensation Range

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. $65,000 – $65,000 USD
