Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee daily warehouse operations in the facility as a hands-on leader and monitor inventory transactions at external, consigned locations. This role is crucial to meet productivity targets and maintain customer satisfaction. The Warehouse Supervisor will ensure efficient processes and procedures are followed and that attention to detail and leadership create a safe and organized warehouse environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials, while ensuring efficient coordination amongst the staff.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and safety regulations to ensure the safety of all warehouse employees.
  • Manage inventory (internal or external), maintain accurate records, conduct cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet daily operational requirements, maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime.
  • Train, mentor, and provide regular feedback to warehouse staff to cultivate skills and enable efficient duties.
  • Review, develop, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions within warehousing and logistics.
  • Determine staffing levels and workload, measure and report effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Customer Service to manage and prioritize incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Seek opportunities for process improvement; implement changes to increase efficiency and decrease costs.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and partners to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and review logistics costs such as inbound/outbound freight and supplies.
  • Resolve warehouse-related issues or conflicts promptly and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse operations, including productivity, inventory levels, and shipping/receiving accuracy, with recommendations for improvement.
  • Organize and maintain inventory and storage areas.
  • Keep work procedures current and identify areas for improvement or innovative methods.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day functions of Inventory Control and Shipping/Receiving personnel.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is strongly preferred
  • APICS/CPIM knowledge/certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse environment
  • Experience with inventory control, inventory reconciliation and third-party logistics; including participating in contract review and rate negotiations, managing consigned (off-site) inventory and E&O review
  • Experience with contract review and supplier negotiations
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and experience implementing safety protocols
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and a proven track record of driving business improvements
  • Advanced user of warehouse management systems (WMS) and proficiency in relevant software (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Experience coordinating and managing international shipments, licensing, and classification of goods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • This position may require driving for company purposes; must possess a valid California Driver's License and clean driving record if requested
  • May participate in identity verification to access secure portals, as applicable

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time
  • Must wear safety gear when handling tools
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, on the telephone or virtually
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects

Pay/Salary Information

Salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 annual salary
