Overview
HR Manager – Van’s Aircraft. We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our HR function with a balance of strategy and execution. This position is responsible for developing and implementing people practices that support organizational goals, foster a positive employee experience, and ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable shaping long-term strategy and managing day-to-day HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational goals.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives to attract and engage top talent.
- Guide performance management processes, including goal-setting, reviews, and development plans.
- Design, implement, and maintain a company-wide compensation structure, including salary bands, incentive programs, and pay policies that ensure equity, transparency, and market competitiveness.
- Conduct annual compensation reviews and benchmarking against industry standards to recommend adjustments that maintain fairness and alignment with company objectives.
- Administer benefits programs, and provide support for payroll and compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations issues.
- Implement training and development programs that build skills and reinforce company culture.
- Maintain and improve HR systems, processes, and reporting to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Support organizational change initiatives, communications, and culture-building efforts.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven experience developing and managing compensation structures, including pay policies, salary bands, and incentive programs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead annual compensation reviews and market benchmarking projects.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Experience with HRIS systems and reporting (preferred).
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP certification a plus.
- A collaborative mindset, balanced with the confidence to lead and make decisions.
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position located at our headquarters in Aurora, Oregon. The HR Manager is expected to be on-site every day to support employees and leadership in an office/manufacturing environment. Remote work is not available for this role.
