Description

The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for performing human resources administrative duties on a professional level while working closely with Senior HR Management. This position has responsibilities in the following areas: recruiting/employment, onboarding, data reporting, policy implementation, employment law compliance and employee relations.

Primary Responsibilities

Recruiting/Employment

  • Initiate correspondence with HR Coordinator and Hiring Manager to identify needs for open positions (job description, education, skills/requirements)
  • Research existing systems for qualifying candidates
  • Place advertisements when needed for open positions
  • Conduct screening interviews & coordinate follow-up interviews with hiring managers
  • Utilize LiveScan to fingerprint staff
  • Track open position progress from start to hire utilizing applicant tracking system
  • Follow up with Hiring Manager consistently to ensure timely and appropriate hiring for any open positions
  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of the hiring process (assessments, background clearances, references, drug testing, physical/TB testing, MVR, CPR, etc.)
  • Coordinate and conduct new employee orientation
  • Participate in career fairs when requested
  • Input new hire employee information into HRIS; maintain data integrity

Employee Relations

  • Partner with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
  • Support employees with any questions and needs regarding company policies, employment verifications, etc.
  • Assist and/or develop programs, projects, and special assignments.
  • Assist with special events, campaigns, etc.
  • Assist in staff development trainings

Benefits

  • Assist in new hire orientation process regarding benefits, leave, etc.
  • Assist Benefits Coordinators with open enrollment, as needed
  • Assist with wellness program and other benefits projects, as needed

General

  • Employment verification and/or salary information requests
  • Reemployment Assistant Claims
  • MVR Clearance Tracking
  • Assist with other departments regarding grant requests for personnel information
  • Ensure employee file compliance per department contracts and/or regulatory agencies
  • Inventory, order, and restock HR supplies
  • Special projects as assigned by Director and VP of HR
  • Assist with ECS recognition programs

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to the AVP of Human Resources.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of related HR / administrative experience preferred.

A comparable amount of training, education, or experience can be substituted for minimum qualifications.

  • Ability to work with people with various cultural backgrounds, levels of education, and experience
  • Certificates of acknowledgement required: Conflict of Interest, Code of Ethics, Confidentiality agreements, IT Systems and Security, Anti-Fraud, HR Employee Acknowledgement Form.

Environmental Conditions

  • Ability to work remote 1-2 days per week; in office work is available, if preferred.
  • Occasional travel to program sites
  • Minimal out of town travel, including nights and weekends possible

Essential Physical Skills

  • Typical physical & mental demands; required prolonged sitting and standing with some bending, stooping, and stretching, and eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, and other office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to communicate with clients and staff
  • Ability to reach, lift, push or pull items weighing 25 lbs.
