About The Role
The Waste Process Technician I (WPT I) is an entry‑level position responsible for safely performing fundamental tasks, including off‑loading inbound trucks, waste stream QA/QC, container sampling, and processing material through shredding and solidification operations. The technician should have a general mechanical understanding of waste‑processing equipment and be proficient with forklifts, attachments, hoses, and valves.
Responsibilities
- Understand basic facility permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements.
- Operate a variety of equipment including pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and OSHA requirements.
- Safely operate mobile equipment (e.g., yard dog) within the facility boundaries.
- Off‑load inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers as needed.
- Process inbound material using facility and mobile equipment.
- Conduct waste stream QA/QC and lab analysis associated with receiving and shipping waste and material.
- Submit all facility‑associated paperwork (receiving logs, piece counts, material verification, manifest review) for regulatory and safety record‑keeping.
- Maintain general cleanliness of the facility and grounds.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- One or more years of related experience.
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
- Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Good judgement, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, hand trucks, and other power tools.
- Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, kneel, crawl, bend, twist, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Consistently perform safely in various weather conditions and work environments.
