Job Overview

Accounting Manager at NextEra Energy’s FPL Energy Services (FPLES) will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and support business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee FPLES accounting team and internal controls.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly financial results across multiple reporting entities.
• Provide accounting support to commercial and residential business lines.
• Act as liaison for accounting implementations and initiatives.
• Conduct reporting and accounting research projects as assigned.
• Maintain SOX compliance, including design and effectiveness of related controls.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field.
