Responsibilities
- Ensure empty cases are available to production departments to meet production schedules and assist shipping by moving trailers as requested, following company policies and procedures.
- Maintain and clean all equipment in the assigned area.
- Slide case stacks from truck using a milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate.
- Ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent production delays.
- Confirm the empty case area is full of cases at the end of the shift to help the next shift with the production run.
- Safely handle all materials.
- Prioritize which truck to empty first based on input from supervisors or yard drivers.
- Continuously scan the area and straighten items to reduce trip and slip hazards.
- Spot broken or otherwise unusable cases and remove them to the designated area.
- Handle returned and truck inventory products as instructed.
- Unload and wash trailers in a timely and efficient manner while keeping dock doors closed when not in use.
- Complete all required paperwork in a clear, legible, and accurate format, documenting information in accordance with SOPs.
- Utilize a continuous improvement mindset to assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Follow all required work‑safe practices, including wearing the required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Be responsible for food safety, pre‑requisite programs, and food quality related to the designated area.
- Report any food safety and food‑quality related issues to management immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in all units of measure.
- Must be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach, and bend virtually the entire shift.
- Pint lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when necessary.
- Must be able to work in a wet environment.
- May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to write entries legibly for record keeping.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
