Entrata is on a mission to simplify the rental experience through powerful software, and our Payments platform plays a critical role in that vision. We’re looking for a

Senior Software Engineer

to join our Lehi‑based team and help scale our payments infrastructure to support millions of daily transactions with speed, reliability, and trust.

This role is ideal for backend‑leaning engineers who take ownership, thrive in fast‑paced environments, and are passionate about building secure and scalable systems. You’ll collaborate closely with product, UX, and offshore engineering teams to deliver impactful features across areas like

ACH/card processing, fraud prevention, and financial compliance .

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement performant, scalable backend services using PHP, SQL, and modern frameworks

Lead code reviews and advocate for best practices in performance, security, and reliability

Mentor junior developers and drive technical excellence across the team

Collaborate with Product Managers, UX designers, and offshore contributors to solve complex challenges and deliver high‑impact features

Ensure code quality and architecture meet both business needs and long‑term scalability

Balance speed of delivery with maintainability and technical debt mitigation

Champion modern tools and methodologies to improve team productivity and code quality

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

5-10 years of backend development experience in

PHP and SQL

Demonstrable experience leveraging AI‑powered development tools (e.g., Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, Tabnine) for enhanced code generation, refactoring, debugging assistance, and overall development efficiency

Expertise in performance optimization, debugging, and unit testing

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

ACH Payments or credit card payment systems

Hands‑on experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure

Familiarity with agile development methodologies and modern DevOps practices

Salary:

$119,000 - $188,000 a year
