This position is located on the Island of Oahu, School Age Services. This position is entitled to 8.64% COLA. COLA is subject to change without notice. DoD approved

commissary privileges

to CYS employees. This temporary approval expires 31 Dec 2025.

Duties

Serves as a CYS Supervisory Program Specialist with responsibility for supervising CYS direct care staff (minimum of 8 ratios of children in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth).

Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements. provides program oversight and accountability. Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing to ensure children are supervised at all times.

Assists with recruitment and selection of caregiving staff utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions. Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required. Ensures timely submission of personnel actions.

Assists directors and training specialist to plan, coordinate, and implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of children and youth.

Acts as Assistant Director or Director in their absence up to 20% of the time. May work in additional CYS facilities for the purposes of providing management oversight for evening or weekend openings.

Requirements

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.

A one-year probationary period may be required.

Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para 2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.

Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.

Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required. Travel to on and off post locations required.

May be subject to irregular hours, evening and/or weekends.
