Overview

The Parry Laboratory at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) is seeking a highly motivated full-time research technician to join our team. Our laboratory investigates the molecular basis of transformation from indolent to aggressive lymphoma and identifies mechanisms of immune evasion in cancer. We use molecular biology, immunology, single-cell sequencing, cell culture, and model systems to understand lymphoma and its immune microenvironment, with the aim of translating findings into new methods of diagnosing, treating, and preventing transformation. Location: Boston area. The position has a preferred start date in May–July 2026. Responsibilities

Independently carry out essential research functions in the laboratory, including immunology and molecular biology techniques. Maintain detailed notebooks of all work-related activities and regularly discuss progress with Dr. Parry and team members. Design and execute standardized molecular biology and immunology experiments, including the collection of information from blood and tissue samples. Analyze experimental data and interpret results; participate in informal and formal presentations of results to laboratory staff. Participate in grant applications and manuscript preparation as required; work collaboratively with laboratory members and participate in group meetings. Monitor laboratory work to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety regulations and standard operating procedures; set up, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment. Order supplies necessary to conduct experiments and contribute to development, modification, and improvement of laboratory standard operating procedures. Use computers and high-technology applications to perform work duties; may be responsible for the examination of mice and mouse specimens. Demonstrate honesty, reliability, and accountability in research.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, with a major in biology-related fields or chemistry preferred. Previous laboratory experience in molecular biology, immunology, mouse models, and/or cell culture preferred. Knowledge of biology, chemistry, or medicine-related techniques; strong communication skills and the ability to work with faculty and staff. Strong attention to detail, thorough task completion, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to analyze information, use logic to address work-related issues, and maintain a high level of integrity and accountability.

Pay Transparency

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications. For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Pay range: $47,500 - $51,300.
