Requisition Number: 28700 About the role: As a Principal Customer Solutions Engineer on the AP1000 team, you will support the Customer Solutions Manager and help lead the Americas Engineered Solutions team by understanding customer needs and drafting proposals for engineering improvements to the AP1000 Plant design. You will support customer needs with offerings through understanding of customer-specific needs, solution selection, technical content of proposal, costing and pricing, responsiveness, and bid quality. Knowledge of AP1000 product/technology area is necessary to support customer interactions/negotiations and to engage in emergent customer issues, and to support resolution of challenges during project execution. You will work with Global Markets, America's Sales, and GOS (primarily Engineering and Supply Chain) to close on opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Leverage customer relationships to facilitate understanding of customer needs and support proposals with a strong value proposition to meet customer needs and secure OE.

Use data to monitor market trends, customer buying patterns and competitor moves to adjust product positioning.

Support SV3/4 engineering activities to aggregate product financials and regular financial forecasting.

Support SV3/4 Engineering activities to develop resource demand signal for GOS engineering and manufacturing.

Engage on emergent customer issues, leading the team until full engineering team is available and engaged; collaborate with project teams to understand project status and resolve execution challenges.

Ensure good understanding of Intellectual Property aspects of offers and ongoing projects; facilitate discussions to develop position on IP.

Collaborate with peers in OMS to ensure cohesive market approach and holistic customer support and satisfaction (e.g., FAC inspections and FAC program engineering).

Collaborate with global product management on product strategy, roadmaps, technology roadmaps, and innovation ideas.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline

8+ years of technical experience, including 6+ years as an Engineer in AP1000 or equivalent technology

Knowledge of AP1000 processes, procedures, and organizational know-how

Knowledge about AP1000 Plant Technologies

Familiarity with the nuclear power plant designs for operating PWR and BWRs or advanced reactors or AP1000

Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000.00 per year. Westinghouse emphasizes transparency and equity in all people practices.
