Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager will lead a team focused on the custom design and development of thermal solutions, providing leadership, coordination, and technical direction for engineering activities, supporting both new product development and ongoing production. Ferrotec’s Thermal Business Unit seeks a candidate who can maintain a solid understanding of core thermal technologies and processes and actively support customer-facing efforts in collaboration with sales, applications engineering, and program management. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and communication skills with technical depth in thermal systems and electromechanical product design. The successful candidate will lead by example—reviewing designs, guiding technical decision-making, and ensuring engineering excellence across the team. Reports to the Managing Director. Achievement of objectives includes an overriding commitment to quality and driving change in the organization. Base pay range
$170,400.00/yr - $188,000.00/yr What Success Looks Like
Provides day-to-day leadership of a team of design and development engineers Supports cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Applications, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Quality Participates in customer meetings and technical discussions as needed, in coordination with other functional leads Oversees execution of engineering deliverables across new product development and sustaining projects Ensures effective use of engineering tools, documentation standards, and design controls Guides project planning, task prioritization, and resource allocation to meet business objectives Contributes to continuous improvement of design processes and engineering best practices Supports recruiting, onboarding, and technical development of engineering team members Promotes a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability Domestic and occasional international travel required Performs other related duties as assigned Not a comprehensive list of duties. BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory capacity Experience with thermal systems, electromechanical assemblies, or related custom product development Strong understanding of product development workflows from concept through production Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and deliver results in a cross-functional environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience supporting customer-facing teams Proficiency in engineering tools such as CAD and simulation or analysis software Experience with design for manufacturability, structured problem-solving, and engineering documentation standards Physical & Environmental Requirements
A typical day requires continuous sitting and/or standing in an office setting with occasional breaks. Standing and walking around a large facility Able to comfortably lift 35 pounds without injury Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions Constantly communicating with others to exchange information Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned Occasionally subjected to low temperatures and high temperatures Occasionally sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing Perks of Joining Our Team
