Celanese is urgently seeking an experienced, full-time Senior Engineer, EHS Process Safety to join our team at the Washington Works facility in Washington, WV. Nestled on the banks of the Ohio River in Parkersburg, West Virginia, our Washington Works site is a cornerstone of the Mid-Ohio Valley community. Established in 1948, this 700-acre site houses six different plants. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of safe plant operation for our employees, the environment, and our neighbors. Every year, we manufacture millions of pounds of essential products used in various automotive, food industry, construction, and household items. Responsibilities

Process Hazard Analysis (PHA): Lead or facilitate PHAs and their revalidations to identify and evaluate process hazards and implement safeguards. Process Safety Management (PSM): Develop, implement, and maintain PSM programs to ensure compliance with regulations like OSHA's PSM standard and EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP) where applicable. Incident Investigation: Lead or participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are taken. Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and evaluations, and develop plans for risk mitigation, including tracking action items. Management of Change (MOC): Ensure an effective MOC process is in place for all process changes to maintain safety. Compliance and Audits: Conduct and participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Serve as a technical advisor to cross-functional teams and provide mentorship to junior engineers. Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture by developing and delivering training and embedding safety principles into all phases of the asset lifecycle. Project Support: Provide process safety guidance on capital projects and assist with pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs). Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred. 7+ years of experience in a leadership or technical steward role. Strong knowledge of PSM, PHA, risk assessment methodologies (like HAZOP), and hazard identification. Proficiency in relevant software, such as PHA and risk assessment tools. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Familiarity with regulations from governing bodies like OSHA and EPA. Seniority level
