Overview
The Dietitian conducts assessments, nutritional planning and education of HV-positive patients. This includes addressing nutritional requirements with complex anti-retroviral therapies, and for co-morbidities such as diabetes and heart disease. Conducts patient education and staff training groups on-site and in community agencies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition / Dietetic
Master’s Degree – preferred
Minimum one (1) year experience in providing nutritional assessment and guidance to people with HIV
New York State Licensed Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN)
Registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) preferred
Sensitivity to cultural diversity of patient population served
Available to work late sessions and Saturdays as required
Experience and/or interest in working with people living with mental health, drug use, and/or chronic illness issues.
