Position Overview

Under general supervision of the MRI/CT Supervisor, operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. The technologist provides technical and ancillary support to the department mission through demonstrated clinical and academic competency in MRI. Clinical and academic competency includes completing training and meeting clinical responsibilities across assigned areas, ability to work unsupervised in the clinical setting, willingness to rotate to all areas as needed, and holding appropriate registration and advanced certification as required by the ARRT and the ACR. Responsibilities

Operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain high-quality MRI images for interpretation by physicians. Provide technical and ancillary support to the department in alignment with policies and procedures. Be willing to rotate to all areas as needed and work independently when required. Adhere to ARRT and ACR requirements for registration and certification. Qualifications

Education: Must be a graduate of an approved school that fulfills ARRT requirements for primary or secondary pathway education in MRI. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be ARRT registered; BLS required; MRI Advanced Certification required or obtained within one year of employment. Experience: MRI experience preferred; MRI-specific classroom experience is a plus. Knowledge And Skills: Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology; working knowledge of RIS and HIS; strong time-management and judgment; positive, team-oriented attitude; professional appearance; ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff; ability to adapt to changing workloads and emergencies.
