Unit Overview Our PACU and Pre-Op units prepare patients for and help them recover from a wide variety of surgical procedures. Nurses here provide critical care during both the pre- and post-anesthesia phases in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment.
Responsibilities
Oversee patient flow and staffing assignments across PACU and Pre-Op
Mentor staff and provide real‑time clinical support
Ensure compliance with safety and anesthesia recovery protocols
Support orientation and training of new hires
Serve as liaison between surgical services, anesthesia, and nursing
Contribute to department metrics and quality improvements
Qualifications
BSN required
RN license in DC or eligibility
BLS and ACLS (AHA)
2+ years in PACU or perioperative nursing
Preferred
CPAN or CAPA certification
Leadership experience in a surgical setting
