Manufacturing Engineer 3 - 66T-Electrical/Electronics
Johnson Service Group is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to support BT&E Wire Shops, Systems and Test Labs in Seattle or Tukwila, Washington. This is a one-year contract. A successful candidate will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. Rate:
$50–$70/hr (DOE)
Manufacturing Engineers are owners of the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration, build plan, and process requirements. They perform Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develop an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly/fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to ensure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements.
Position Responsibilities
Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies
Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build
Leads and implements manufacturing plans
Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements
Leads in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices
Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions
Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule
Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts
Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems. Implements lean principles and technologies
Required Skills
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree required from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Knowledge of electrical/mechanical manufacturing processes and assembly sequencing
Prior experience working on Boeing Manufacturing System
Experience with manufacturing tools (PDM, CAPP, CMES, MESci, EPARTs, GOLDesp)
Preferred Skills
3+ years of experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment
3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
Experience with space or military electronics
Experience in Project management
Experience in Work Package Estimating
