Material Handler
Operates propane or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forks and clamps to lift, stack, or move product, equipment, or materials between loading, processing, and storage areas in a warehouse or factory. Serve as a resource to production with the movement of materials such as rolls, dies, ink, corrugate, WIP, coating, and white waste. Stages load for transport by stacking, arranging, and securing loads. Unloads and loads tractor trailers. May inventory materials. May weigh materials or product and record weight and other production data on tags, labels, or shipping paperwork. Examines contents and compares with records, such as manifests, invoices, bill of lading, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipment. May enter, transcribe, record, or maintain information in either written form or electronically. Tends and replenishes automatic shrink bell. Tends and maintains baler room. Moves levers, turns steering wheel, and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. Positions forks and other lifting devices under or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, rolls, products, or materials and transports load to designated area. May manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices. Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging or exchanging batteries and replacing liquefied-gas tank. Performs routine inspections on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
