Position Summary
This position administers financial aid and student account programs for all campuses. It provides leadership, direction and coordination for the organization and delivery of all Student Financial Aid programs. The role creates an environment of consistency and accuracy, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines and company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide oversight and supervision to the campus Student Financial Aid Department.
Ensure that all state, federal and non‑Title IV financial aid is awarded, authorized, and disbursed in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide leadership to promote and maintain integrity, accuracy, and timeliness in the delivery of financial aid to students.
Assist in setting student finance goals and objectives for the College and ensure that all goals are met.
Develop programs to overcome student financial aid issues to maintain and promote student retention.
Collaborate in designing and maintaining campus structures and staffing plans to effectively accomplish student finance goals and objectives.
Assist the Campus Director in hiring, training, and managing the Financial Aid Advisors.
Direct the development of policies and procedures for student finance to streamline workflow processes.
Review and approve plans, development, and implementation of student finance strategies to meet short‑term and long‑term objectives.
Ensure the creation of processes, controls, reports, evaluations, and reviews of company student finance policies.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and company student finance policies.
Maintain exemplary customer service, assisting students and parents with financial aid programs and detailed information.
Ensure necessary reports regarding financial aid are produced for management on schedule.
Foster and maintain a supportive, student‑centered atmosphere sensitive and responsive to students and their families.
Participate in leadership meetings.
Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of principles, practices, methodology, and procedures for the provision of student financial aid.
Knowledge of state and federal financial aid laws, including Title IV regulations.
Ability to supervise and direct the activities of others.
Demonstrated skills in facilitating and modeling a strong customer service orientation.
Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, and the public.
Ability to manage sensitive, confidential issues.
Proven ability to set priorities and deadlines and ensure that projects are completed.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
Ability to multi‑task, prioritize workload.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
At least five years of enterprise‑wide oversight experience in student finance operations with experience managing multiple locations (preferred).
Experience applying FERPA laws in an academic environment.
Experience utilizing financial aid software.
Membership in professional organizations such as CASFAA or WASFAA strongly preferred.
Accounting or finance experience helpful.
