Our client is a multi-facility medical center in CA. They are part of one of the largest, most successful and decorated health systems in the United States. They offer both community based and tertiary medical services. Their location has over 400 licensed beds, is a not-for-profit, and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. They have received special recognition for quality by the Joint Commission this year and won a Consumer Choice award for hospitals from the National Research Council.
This position is an immediate opening for an energetic and multi-tasking Medical Staff Services professional to lead a strong Medical Staff department to the next level of service. This position is the #1 leader in the department, and the client seeks a strong, experienced candidate who is comfortable and confident when dealing with C-suite and world class physicians.
Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership, direction and management of the activities and resources of the Medical Staff Services department.
Support the Medical Staff organization to meet the goals and objectives of the medical staff and hospital and to meet requirements of licensure and regulatory agencies.
Establish protocols and practices, ensuring compliance with department, affiliate, operating unit, and/or system standards, policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
Take a strategic and tactical approach in identifying best practices, standardizing workflows/processes, and developing plans of action to implement changes.
Qualifications
Education:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's:
Business Administration, Healthcare or related field.
Typical Experience:
8 years recent relevant experience.
Additional note:
The ideal candidate has leadership experience in a Medical Staff Office within an acute care hospital setting.
