Engineer – Kitchen Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Night Shift) Job at SAHARA

Kitchen Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer Overview Engineers will perform preventive and ongoing maintenance of the hotel, casino, back‑of‑house, and retail areas within the property. All duties are performed in accordance with departmental policies, practices, and procedures. Job Responsibilities Proficient in one or more building trades: electrical, painting, carpentry, industrial plumbing, HVAC, kitchen appliances, swimming pools, and general mechanics. Service and maintain large commercial refrigeration racks and standalone equipment, including parallel rack refrigeration systems, semi‑hermetic compressors, large commercial ice machines, standalone small hermetic refrigeration systems, cold rails, blast chillers, walk‑in freezers and coolers, commercial cook‑line refrigeration equipment, and large commercial air conditioning systems. Maintain various refrigeration equipment types and report all equipment and fixture errors to management. Respond to emergencies throughout the facility. Maintain supply inventories and maintenance logs for all assigned areas. Assist all other trades and crafts with routine and emergency work assignments. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. 5 to 7 years of commercial refrigeration service experience. Journeyman level experience in installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration equipment, including ice machines and heating/cooling units. Skills in soldering, brazing, welding, pipe fitting, and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics. Hands‑on experience with volt‑ohm multimeters and manifold pressure gauges. Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Delta preferred. Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of hand tools and equipment. Previous experience in a resort setting with commercial A/C and refrigeration. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Availability for varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Valid NV Driver’s License and 21+ years of age. EPA Universal Card or equivalent required.
