Overview Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. (ESS Inc.) is a Cincinnati based certified MBE. Since 2002, ESS Inc. provides health and safety, engineering, environmental technical and management services to businesses nationwide. We partner with a range of clients from Fortune 500 companies to local small businesses, offering occupational safety and environmental compliance services. Overall Purpose A HDA analyzes hydraulic information which may include sanitary, combined, and storm sewer flow data, system schematics, WWTP records, rain data, pump station data, real-time data, and other pertinent information. The analyst prepares data and reports for the client and develops a general understanding of the analysis process, sensor basics, and typical field monitor installation. Responsibilities Demonstrate a strong understanding of mathematics and basic statistics. Demonstrate a good understanding of basic hydraulics, especially related to measurement and calculation of flow in sewer systems. Analyze data for calibration, trends, patterns, and outliers using graphical and statistical analysis. Follow standard processes for routine data processing and preparation of data for review and audits. Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks. Understand typical field monitor installation, including on-site visits to flow monitor locations with an experienced field crew. Understand methods of flow monitoring, including field procedures. Troubleshooting Identify problems with data and propose solutions to correct persistent issues. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with field personnel, technicians, coworkers, and management. Computer Skills Familiarity with standard ADS hardware and software configurations. Perform basic data maintenance functions such as backup, archive, restore, and data merging. Learn and utilize new software packages for data analysis. Competency with standard corporate software for word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and graphic processing. Presentation Skills Assist in final report preparation delivering professional quality, accuracy, and timeliness. Complete or assist with special projects as required. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities BA/BS in a field related to the environment or other sciences; degree fields with strong emphasis on mathematics or physical sciences are acceptable; equivalent work experience is also acceptable. Understanding of ADS product lines, services, and software is a plus. Familiarity with databases or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is desirable.
