Wastewater & Water Treatment Laboratory Supervisor Location: Arrow Workforce Solutions (pay range provided by recruiter) Pay Range: $90,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (may require occasional nights and weekends) Position Summary: This role is responsible for performing technical laboratory work at a wastewater treatment plant and potable water treatment system. The position ensures the accurate analysis of samples to support the efficient operation, maintenance, and compliance of both wastewater and potable water systems. Key Responsibilities: Support the organization’s vision, mission, and values. Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate wastewater and water operators at the plant. Inspect plant machinery, equipment, grounds, and facilities to determine maintenance or corrective action needs. Maintain time records, prepare reports, and schedule staff assignments. Estimate and requisition materials and supplies as needed. Investigate and respond to complaints; respond to emergency situations. Operate and oversee safe and efficient use of vehicles and plant equipment. Inspect and monitor performance of contractors when assigned. Conduct special projects and recommend operational goals and objectives. Implement and oversee all aspects of the company’s sampling and testing programs. Oversee physical and chemical testing of wastewater, including suspended solids, percent solids, and chemical oxygen demand (COD). Perform chemical tests on treated drinking water samples for phosphate, zinc, copper, pH, nitrite, ammonia as nitrogen, total phosphorus, and alkalinity. Maintain accurate records of all tests and plant operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 4 years of operating experience in wastewater facilities (Class III or higher), including 2 years in a Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) position. Ability to obtain a Base Level Water Operator License with Chemical Feed Endorsement. At least 2 years of supervisory experience in wastewater operations with demonstrated leadership skills. Drinking water treatment experience is a plus. Knowledge & Skills: Excellent knowledge of modern laboratory techniques, practices, and equipment for wastewater and potable water systems. Understanding of bacteriology, biology, chemistry, and physical analysis of wastewater. Skilled in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, pumps, valves, and mechanical/electrical systems. Ability to perform, interpret, and report laboratory tests accurately. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to follow technical instructions and apply problem‑solving skills independently.
