Job Description Summary
The Value Process Engineer (VPE) will oversee the manufacturing processes for the value stream at EMO. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost of the processes. Pursuant to these responsibilities, the candidate will manage manufacturing projects and provide a strategic outlook on project management and process improvement across the site. Essential Responsibilities
The Value Process Engineer (VPE) will oversee the manufacturing processes for the value stream at EMO. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost of the processes. Pursuant to these responsibilities, the candidate will manage manufacturing projects and provide a strategic outlook on project management and process improvement across the site. Essential Responsibilities
- Technical process ownership for critical structural components for aircraft engines
- Specific focus on machining (milling, turning, grinding, assembly, etc). with additional attention on critical special processes (ie: EDM, Laser, Braze, Welding, Coatings, Nickel Plating, etc)
- Define, improve, and control plant production process including tooling and equipment
- Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment
- NPI - Identify & Develop manufacturing processes and sequence to introduce new designs
- Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods
- Understand current shop capability and capacity, communicate manpower requirements and identify business needs for future capacity and capability
- Communicate across direct organization, site management team and across the business function
- Work on cross-functional projects / teams to deliver technology solutions for the business
- Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness and equipment capability
- Mentor, coach, and develop site Manufacturing and Quality Engineers
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (manufacturing/production experience + minimum of 5 years (manufacturing/production) experience
- Knowledgeable in GD&T, print reading
- Knowledge of precision machining - including metal cutting principles, work holding, tool holding, and chip mechanics
- Bachelors degree in engineering or technology
- Prior experience in manufacturing operations
- Knowledgeable in CAD/CAM systems such as NX
- Background or understanding of NC Programming
- Familiarity with machining high nickel based alloys and titanium
- Understanding of LEAN principals
- Familiarity with GE Systems such as ARAS, CAS, CSF, Interax, SSS, eFI
- Possess leadership capabilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to influence and mentor others and lead small teams
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
