Position Description Summary:
The Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer provides expert-level design, implementation, and management of complex telecommunications networks across multiple sites. This role ensures the reliability and performance of DLA’s voice and data WAN systems and wireless infrastructure, supporting mission-critical operations.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize telecommunications networks, including LAN/WAN and wireless systems. Provide leadership for network analysis, architecture design, and performance tuning. Manage evaluation and cost estimation for carrier-based and wireless network services. Direct and review work products to ensure compliance with standards, schedules, and design intent. Prepare and deliver milestone status reports and technical presentations. Coordinate with cross-functional teams and government representatives to resolve complex technical issues. Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in network engineering and design; 7 years preferred for network operations roles. Demonstrated experience managing complex network systems and leading technical teams. Proficiency with Cisco technologies and equivalent vendor environments. Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications: Relevant certification from a nationally recognized authority (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent). Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification. DoD 8570/8140: Category IAT Level I. Security Clearance Required
Active Secret Clearance with eligibility for Top Secret (Top Secret preferred). Seniority level
