The Catering Event Manager (On Site) is responsible for selling, planning, and servicing small meetings, social gatherings, and events. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences. The Catering Event Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, from initial inquiry through event execution, ensuring seamless coordination across all departments.
Responsibilities
Sell and service small meetings, social events, and group catering functions, maximizing revenue opportunities while delivering personalized service.
Conduct site tours and client meetings to promote hotel facilities and services.
Prepare proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs) to communicate client needs and event details to internal teams.
Coordinate with banquet, culinary, and operations staff to ensure flawless execution of all events.
Maintain accurate and timely client records in sales and catering systems.
Proactively upsell products, services, and enhancements to maximize event revenue.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Monitor event progress and resolve any issues that arise to ensure client satisfaction.
Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and achieving sales goals.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and local market opportunities.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Perform all duties in a safe manner, observing all safety procedures and report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property.
Be attentive to any objects, conditions, or actions that may risk accidents and/or injuries to a guest or fellow employee. Report all unsafe conditions.
Must subscribe to proper grooming, dress, and uniform standards as set forth by Company policy.
Be courteous to all guests and fellow associates.
Communicate effectively with peers, management, line and front of the house employees.
Performs related duties as required.
Maintain the company image and vision statement.
Provide an exceptional guest experience.
Make optimal use of financial resources.
Participate in ongoing training and encourage the personal development of all associates.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of event planning, catering sales, and group services.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously with a high level of detail and organization.
Proficiency in catering/sales software (Delphi, Social Tables, Sertifi or similar systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
Experience, Education, & Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in catering, conference services, or event management, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
Compensation Base Pay Start Rate: $70,000 - $75,000/Yr. + Incentives
