Controls Engineer – SolidWorks Electrical

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team responsible for designing and developing custom test equipment for advanced manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical design using SolidWorks Electrical and hands‑on expertise in Allen Bradley PLC programming. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative manufacturing systems that support cutting‑edge product development and production.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop machine electrical control systems, including schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials.
Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing & Technology engineering teams and Operations Project Leads to ensure project success and documentation accuracy.
Lead or participate in panel building, wiring, debugging, and commissioning of new equipment.
Program and integrate Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, servo and VFD drives, robots, and safety systems.
Develop electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical or similar CAD tools.
Implement and maintain compliance with NEC, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, ANSI B11, and ANSI R15 standards.
Support the integration of machine vision, laser marking, welding, and material handling systems.
Research and implement new technologies and control strategies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
3–7 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or equipment design.
Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical for electrical design and documentation.
Hands‑on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo systems.
Strong understanding of machine safety and electrical standards.
Experience with panel design, wiring, and commissioning of automated equipment.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
