Job Description
As an Application Engineer I, you will be responsible for quoting the electrical and controls scope of material handling solutions. You will own the electrical and controls content of proposals and take part in defining scope, schedule, price, and responsibilities of a project. The Application Engineer I works with customers, sales representatives, engineering, and other proposal development team members to translate customer needs into solutions regarding material handling systems.
You will report directly to our Sr. Application Engineering Supervisor and you'll work out of our Mason, OH location on a Hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Cost estimation and proposal content for electrical and controls scope
Develop device layout drawings and electrical equipment lists
Assign hours to tasks for electrical and controls engineering responsibilities
Present electrical and controls scope and costs to internal leadership and key stakeholders
Establish a description of operations for the proposed machine control solution
Research, read, and analyze customer specifications and existing code, software, and equipment documentation
Assist sales in presenting proposed machine control solutions to customers
Up to 10% domestic travel
Qualifications YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree in related engineering field (Electrical, Mechatronics, Software, etc.)
General knowledge of electrical or machine control systems
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office
A valid Driver's License
We Value
0-2 years in electrical, controls, software, or application engineering role
Knowledge of material handling products and solutions
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other PLC programming
Customer facing experience
Experience with AutoCAD and Salesforce
