As a Citrix Administrator at TxDOT, you will manage and optimize the Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable virtual desktop services. Administer Citrix/AVD components, maintain and harden Windows Server systems, apply networking fundamentals such as ACLs and firewall rules. Automate processes with PowerShell, monitor performance using Citrix and Azure tools, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, enforce TxDOT security standards, document procedures, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless end?user experience. Responsibilities and Required Skills Citrix/AVD Administration: Manage Citrix DaaS/CVAD integrated with AVD (host pools, session hosts, delivery groups, MCS/Autoscale). Maintain FSLogix profiles, app layering, Citrix Workspace/StoreFront/Cloud Connectors, Citrix Gateway, policy design, image lifecycle, and capacity planning for TxDOTs enterprise environment. Windows Server Platform: Build, patch, and harden Windows Server (2022) for TxDOT services. Manage AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP. Use PowerShell and configuration tools (e.g., MECM/Intune, ARM/Bicep/Terraform basics) to automate tasks. Networking & Security: Apply TCP/IP fundamentals, DNS, load balancing, and access control lists at multiple layers (Citrix policies, OS firewall, network firewalls, Azure NSG/ASG) to implement least?privilege connectivity. Create and maintain firewall rules for TxDOT systems. Monitoring & Operations: Use Citrix Director/Analytics, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, and platform logs to track performance, right?size capacity, and tune user experience. Drive incident response and root?cause analysis. Document TxDOT standard operating procedures. Governance & Compliance: Follow TxDOT change, configuration, and security baselines. Contribute to platform hardening, patch compliance, backup/disaster recovery readiness, and vulnerability remediation in partnership with TxDOT security teams. Customer Focus & Collaboration: Partner with TxDOT application owners and service desks to triage user issues, publish applications, and deliver a consistent, high?quality virtual desktop experience. Participate in an on?call rotation for high?priority incidents.

Minimum Years Of Experience, Skills, And Qualifications

7 years administering Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops / Citrix DaaS and/or Azure Virtual Desktop. 7 years networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnets/VLANs, DNS, load balancing, plus hands?on with ACLs and firewall rule management. 7 years proficiency with PowerShell and familiarity with infrastructure?as?code concepts. 7 years experience with monitoring and troubleshooting across Citrix/AVD, Windows Server, and network layers. 7 years ability to write clear technical documentation and operate within TxDOT change and incident management processes. 7 years administering Windows Server in enterprise environments (AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP, file/print, patching/updates).

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

4 years experience with Azure network security, public?sector security frameworks (e.g., NIST 800?53), and CIS hardening benchmarks. 4 years Citrix CCA?V / CCP?V / CCE?V; Microsoft AZ?104, AZ?140; ITIL Foundation; CompTIA Network+/Security+ certification(s) are a plus.
