Physician Radiation Oncology Dept, Clinical Director, Radiation Oncologist (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Position posted for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center – Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Institute (OSUCCC-James). The Clinical Director reports to the Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology via the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and oversees all activities of the Radiation Oncology Department, including clinical services, quality of care, resource utilization, protocol and practice guideline development, and supervision of Residents and Fellows. The role also ensures accreditation and regulatory standards compliance and represents the department in internal and external engagements. The Physician-Clinical component provides licensed medical care including diagnosis, treatment, case management and clinical research within Medical Center standards.

Responsibilities

Oversight of the Radiation Oncology Department’s activities, including main campus and breast center clinical services, quality of care, and resource utilization.

Develop and review protocols and practice guidelines; supervise Residents and Fellows to ensure appropriate education and training.

Ensure accreditation and regulatory standards (Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and other bodies) are met; foster collaboration across clinical, research, and administrative teams.

Represent the department in institutional and external engagements; drive initiatives to advance patient outcomes, faculty development, and program excellence.

Provide licensed medical care as a Physician-Clinical, including diagnosis, treatment (including pre/post-surgical care where appropriate), case management and involvement in clinical research.

Qualifications

MD or DO; successful completion of an accredited residency; Board Certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Radiology.

Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
