You will manage a group of Substation Electrical Engineers in the Desert / San Jacinto region who are responsible for detailed scoping, engineering, design and providing construction support for all substation projects. You will guide and support your team daily, provide clear direction, manage workload, and oversee the performance of design contractors to ensure cost, schedule, and quality standards. You will collaborate with leaders and teams across the organization to achieve shared objectives, proactively identify process improvements, and drive operational excellence across engineering initiatives. Responsibilities

Leads a select set of engineering and business initiatives to develop grid strategies, determine how the grid is planned, designed, operated, and maintained to operationalize company strategy Develops and maintains a project portfolio management system to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and monitor performance Evaluates new technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability, designing and implementing improvement projects and new systems to support site initiatives and improve operational efficiency Establishes and maintains relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors to support project delivery and innovation Coaches engineering teams on professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy, technology and safety program to ensure company advancement toward future vision and the well-being of employees and contractors involved in engineering projects Manages the engineering team that provides emergent and routine trouble-shooting support for plant technical needs; manages contract engineers and ensures consistency and quality in design, delivery milestone dates, and cost Leads the design and implementation of new equipment and cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability, and throughput Develops goals for engineering team and assigns projects/roles to employees that translate senior management goals into actionable tasks Ensures protection of physical, financial and cybersecurity assets and proper handling of sensitive information and data Minimum Qualifications

Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments Preferred Qualifications

Experience and familiarity with substation engineering, design and standards Experience in supervising and/or leading cross functional teams Bachelor’s degree in STEM Licensed Professional Engineer Project Management certification Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements to enhance the quality and timeliness of engineering deliverables Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills Additional Information

Work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in California. Details discussed at the interview stage. Work mode can change based on business needs. Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered in accordance with applicable fair chance ordinances and acts. Primary work location is Pomona, CA. Successful candidate may be asked to work at an alternate location. Position may require up to 10% travel and being in the field throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation may apply.
