Embedded Process Engineer (Surge & Hydraulic Study) Base pay range: $70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr Location: Houston, TX Responsibilities
Review and verification of inputs as per the project requirement Prepare and review process flow diagrams based on project requirements Prepare, update and review P&IDs based on process flow or project requirement Perform specialized engineering duties related to pipeline system surge analysis, operating pressures and overpressure protection calculations Conduct surge analysis modeling for projects Perform and review hydraulic study and hydraulic calculations for line sizing, pump head, etc. Review and evaluate data related to overpressure protection setpoints, sizing and installation requirements Assist in design and specification of new/modified overpressure protection mitigations Prepare, update and review process datasheets for process equipment (pumps, storage tanks, reactors, vessels, columns, separators, heat exchangers, filtration, drying equipment) and instrumentation Prepare, update and review line lists, equipment lists, and related documents Prepare, update and review cause and effect and control narratives based on project requirements Preparation of design documents and coordination with field/site engineers and external vendors Qualifications
Degree in Chemical Engineering or other relevant engineering Good knowledge of industrial projects in oil & gas and petrochemical industry Experience in surge and hydraulic system studies Good technical reasoning and analytical skills Exposure to industry design standards and codes Proficient in Aspen HYSYS Working knowledge of Synergi Pipeline Simulator, AFT Impulse or similar software Operating knowledge of AutoCAD & Navisworks software Experience with transmission/gathering pipeline operations and gas measurement/regulation Knowledge of pipeline stress/strain analysis and safety procedures Pay and Benefits
